I would consider myself to be pretty knowledgeable in the technology field. I'm no expert of course, but I get by with a fair amount of ease normally. I think that people my age now-a-days have had much more experience with it than those in the past. My high school was fairly technologically advanced in that we used computers at one point or another every day, always kept in contact through e-mail, etc. Also, living in the United States gives us more of an advantage with technology because it is prevalent everywhere we go! People rarely leave home without their cell phones, are on computers once a day, and much more.

In this class, I hope to better my knowledge of the technology field, especially with computers. I also hope to learn how I will be using it as a teacher, as well as how often I'll be using it. I know that there are many things on the computer that I do not know how to do, mainly because I haven't necessarily needed to in the past. However, these are skills that can help me in many aspects of my life by making my experiences with computers easier.

Now, a little about me...as I shared in class, I'm originally from Oakton, Virginia. It's about 15 minutes outside our nation's capitol, Washington, D.C. During my freshman year in college at Florida State, my parents relocated to Brandon, Florida. I like it there, but will always consider Virginia my true home. I go up there as much as I can since I still have family and friends up there. I love to be around my friends, near and far, they keep me sane, keep me happy, and definitely keep me laughing. The best feeling in the world to me is when your abs hurt, your cheeks ache, and your eyes are watering from laughing too hard. I also love my pets. I have two dogs (Toby and Chops) and a very fat cat (Tigger). I'm a HUGE football fan (as well as virtually all other sports). Whether the Seminoles, or my personal favorite, the Washington Redskins, I cheer my heart out and NEVER miss a game.

I'm not sure where Oakton, VA is but I lived in Falls Church, VA from when I was 2 years old to 6. It's a small town outside of DC too! And my family is huge Redskins fans as well!

It sounds like you’re pretty smart when it comes to technology. I’m also glad to be learning more about programs in this class because it seems like there are a lot of way to get things done quicker than how I would normally do them. There is definitely technology everywhere we go in America and I think it is important to at least understand the basics of as many technologies as possible!

It’s really cool that you’re from Virginia, I went there this summer! It’s so pretty there and I definitely would like to go again sometime – perhaps even spring break. Washington D.C. is also a cool place to visit. Did you go there often? I laughed when you said you have a fat cat because I have a few back at home too. Fat cat just means there’s more to love!! See you around!
